For the past several years, Centex employees in our headquarters city of Dallas have participated in the Hearts & Hammers program. This project is part of an annual city-wide effort on behalf of Hearts & Hammers, a local nonprofit agency that makes repairs to the homes of elderly, low-income homeowners. Through this program, Centex employees have refurbished nearly 50 homes in the Dallas area with an average of 700 employees volunteering each year. Originally intended to be a one-time event in 2000 to celebrate Centex’s 50th anniversary, Centex employees have adopted Hearts & Hammers as an annual event making it our biggest volunteer project in the Dallas area. The Hearts & Hammers project is an excellent way for Centex to use our expertise to give back in a meaningful and lasting way to our community.
